Shabta

(These Tehillim (Psalms) may be alternated or the hazana may choose to recite all of them)

Chapter 92

92:1 ¶
It is a good thing to give thank to Mar-Yah, and to sing praises to thy name, O Most High,
2
To
show forth thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.
3
I will play upon
an instrument of ten strings and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
4
For
thou, O Mar-Yah, hast made me glad through thy work; I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
5
O Mar-Yah, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.
6
A stupid man knows not;
neither does a fool understand this.
7 ¶
When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish; it is that
they shall be destroyed for ever;
8
But thou, Mar-Yah, art most high for evermore.
9
For, lo, thine
enemies, O Mar-Yah, for lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be
scattered.
10
But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of a wild ox; I shall be anointed with
fragrant oil.
11
Mine eyes also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my
desire against the wicked that rise up against me.
12
The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree;
he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13
Those that are planted in the house of Mar-Yah shall
flourish in the courts of our God.
14
They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fair
and desirable,
15
To show that Mar-Yah is upright; he is mighty, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Chapter 93

93:1 ¶
Mar-Yah reigns; he is clothed with majesty; Mar-Yah is clothed with strength, wherewith he
has girded himself; the world also is established, that it cannot be moved.
2
Thy throne is
established of old; thou art from everlasting.
3
The rivers are full flowing, O Mar-Yah; the rivers
have lifted up their voice; the rivers are flowing with purity.
4
Mar-Yah on high is mightier than
the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
5
Thy testimonies are very sure;
holiness becomes thy house, O Mar-Yah, for ever.

Chapter 95

95:1 ¶
O come, let us sing to Mar-Yah; let us make a joyful noise to the God of our salvation.
2
Let us
come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise to him with psalms.
3
For
Mar-Yah is a great God and a great King above all gods.
4
In his hand are the foundations of the
earth; the strength of the hills is his also.
5
The sea is his, and he made it; and his hands formed
the dry land.
6
O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before Mar-Yah our Maker.
7 ¶
For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Today if you
will hear his voice,
8
Harden not your heart, as in the provocation and as in the day of temptation
in the wilderness,
9
When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.
10
Forty years
long was I grieved with that generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they
have not known my ways,
11
Unto whom I swore in my wrath that they should not enter into my
rest.

Chapter 16

16:1 ¶
Preserve me, O God; for in thee do I put my trust.
2
I have said unto Mar-Yah, Thou art my
Lord Yah, and my goodness cometh from thee;
3
I said it also to the saints that are on the earth,
and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
4
The sorrows of the wicked shall be multiplied in
rapid succession that I may not pour out their libations of blood; nor will I mention their names
with my lips.
5
Mar-Yah is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; thou shalt restore my
inheritance.
6
My portion of the land fell to me in goodly places; yea, I have been pleased with my
heritage.
7
I will bless Mar-Yah, for he has given me counsel; my intuition also guides me during
the night.
8 ¶
I have set Mar-Yah always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9
Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10
For thou hast
left not my soul in Sheol; neither hast thou suffered thy Holy One to see corruption.
11
Thou wilt
show me the path of life, and I shall be filled with the joy of thy countenance, with the pleasure of
victory of thy right hand.

Chapter 98

98:1 ¶
Sing to Mar-Yah a new song; for he has done marvellous things; his right hand and his holy
arm have gotten him the victory.
2
Mar-Yah has made known his salvation; his righteousness has
he revealed in the sight of the heathen.
3
He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the
house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 ¶
Praise Mar-Yah, all the earth; make ye merry and sing and give praise.
5
Sing to Mar-Yah with
the harp, with the harp and the voice of a choir.
6
With the sound of trumpets give praise before
Mar-Yah, the King.
7
Let the sea roar and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell
therein.
8
Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills be joyful together
9
Before Mar-Yah; for he
comes to judge the earth; with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

Chapter 150

150:1 ¶
Praise Mar-Yah. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in the firmament of his power.
2
Praise him for his mighty acts; praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3
Praise him with
the sound of the trumpet; praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4
Praise him with timbrel and
pipe; praise him with sweet stringed instruments.
5
Praise him upon loud cymbals; praise him
with a mighty song.
6
Let every thing that has breath praise Mar-Yah. Praise Mar-Yah.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven, may your name be sanctified.
10 Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.
11 Give us the bread of our need this day.
12 Forgive us our offences, as we have forgiven those who have offended us.
13 And do not permit us to be brought into trial, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is
the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.’
