Before Torah Reading

Matthew 5:17-20

Do not think that I came to dismiss the Torah or the Prophets. I have not come to dismiss, but to carry out. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one smallest letter or one stroke shall pass away from the Torah, until everything happens. Therefore, anyone who dismisses one of these small mitzvoth (Commandments), and thus teach the sons of men to do so, will be called little in the Kingdom of Heaven; but those who do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

When Removing Torah From Ark

When the Ark set out, Mosha would say: Arise, O AdonYah, and Your adversaries will be scattered, and Your enemies will flee before You. For from Zion shall go forth the Torah, and the Word of AdonYah from Jerusalem. Blessed is He who in His holiness gave Torah to His people Israel.Prayer when touched the Torah

The Torah which Moshe commanded us is the heritage of the congregation of Ya’aqub. {Kiss the Torah}

THE BOOK OF MATTHEW

CHAPTER 19

1 And when Jesus had ended these discourses, he removed from

Galilee, and came to

the confines of Judea on the other side of Jordan.

2 And great multitudes followed after him, and he healed them

there.

3 And Pharisees came to him, and tempted him

and said: Is it lawful for a m

an to

divorce his wife for any cause?

4 And he answered and said to them: Have you not read, that he who made them

at the

beginning, made them

a male and a female?

5 And he said: For this reason, a man shall l

eave his father and his mother, and adhere to

his wife; and they two shall be one flesh.

6 Therefore they were not two, but one flesh. What therefore God has united, let not

man separate.

7 They said to him: Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and

to put her away?

8 He said to them: Moses, on account of the hardness of your heart, permitted you to

divorce your wives: but from

the beginning it was not so.

9 And I say to you, That whoever leaves his wife not being an adulteress, and takes

another, commits adultery. And whoever takes her that is divorced, commits adultery.

10 His disciples said to him: If such is the case between man and wife, it is not practical

to take a wife.

11 But he said to them: Not every one is capable of that thing, but he only to whom

it is given.

12 For there are some eunuchs*, born so from

their mother’s womb; and there are some

eunuchs, who were made eunuchs by men; and there are some eunuchs who have made

them

selves eunuchs for the sake of the Kingdom

of Heaven. He that can be comprehend

let him

comprehend.

13 Then they brought children to him, that he might lay his hand upon them

and pray.

And his disciples rebuked them.

14 But Jesus said to them: Allow children to come to me, and do not forbid them; for of

those that are like them

is the kingdom

of heaven.

15 And he laid his hand upon them, and departed from

there.16 And one came, drew near, and said to him: Good Teacher, what good thing must I

do, that eternal life may be mine?

17 And he said to him: Why do you call me good?

There is none good, except one, God.

But if you would enter into life, keep the Commandments.

18 He said to him, Which?

And Jesus said to him: You shall not murder; and you shall

not commit adultery; and you shall not steal; and you shall not bear false testimony;

19 and honor your father and your mother; and you shall love you neighbor as yourself.

20 The young man says to him: All these I have kept from

my childhood. What do I

lack?

21 Jesus said to him: If you desire to be perfect, go, sell your property, and give to the

poor; and there shall be for you a treasure in heaven; and come after me.

22 And the young man heard that speech, and he went away in sadness; for he had much

property.

23 And Jesus said to his disciples: Truly I say to you, it is difficult for a rich man to

enter into the kingdom

of heaven.

24 And again, I say to you: It is easier for a rope to enter the eye of a needle, than for a

rich man to enter the Kingdom

of God.

25 And when the disciples heard this, they wondered greatly, and said: Who then can

gain life!

26 Jesus looked at them, and said to them: With men this is not possible, but with God

every thing is possible.

27 Then Cephas answered, and said to him: Behold, we have forsaken every thing, and

come after you: What therefore shall we receive?

28 Jesus said to them: Truly I say to you, that, as for you who have followed me, when

the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his

glory in the new world, you also shall sit on

twelve seats, and shall judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

29 And every man that leaves houses, or brothers or sisters, or father or mother, or

wife or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall

inherit eternal life.

30 But there are many first who shall be last, and last who shall be first.

*The word “eunuchs” can also be translated as “believers”.

THE BOOK OF JAMES

Chapter 4

1 Where is it, that there are among you fightings and broils ? Is it not from the lusts, which war in your members?

2 You covet, and possess not; and you kill, and envy, and effect nothing: and you fight and make attacks; and you have not, because you ask not.

3 You ask, and receive not; because you ask wickedly, that you may pamper your lusts.

4 You adulterers, know you not, that the love of the world is hostility towards Alaha ? He therefore who chooses to be a lover of this world, is the enemy of Alaha.

5 Or think you, that the scripture has vainly said: The spirit dwelling in us lusts with envy?

6 But Maran has given us more grace. Therefore he said: Alaha humbles the lofty, and gives grace to the lowly.

7 Subject yourselves therefore to Alaha; and stand firm against Satan, and he will flee from you.

8 Draw close to Alaha, and he will draw close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners: sanctify your hearts, you divided in mind.

9 Humble yourselves, and mourn: let your laughter be turned into mourning, and your joy into grief.

10 Humble yourselves before Mar-Yah, and he will exalt you.

11 Do not speak against each other, my brethren; for he that speaks against his brother, or judges his brother, speaks against Torah, and judges Torah. And if you judge Torah, you are not Torah observant, but its judge.

12 There is one Law-giver and Judge, who can make alive, and [can] destroy: but who are you, that you judge your neighbor ?

13 But what shall we say of those, who say: To-day or to-morrow we will go to such or such a city, and will abide there a year; and we will traffic, and get gain ?

14 And they know not what will be to-morrow: for what is our life, but an exhalation that is seen a little while, and then vanishes and is gone ?

15 Whereas they should say: If Mar-Yah please, and we live, we will do this or that.

16 They glory in their vaunting. All such glorying is evil.

17 He that knows the good, and does it not, to him is sin.

Syriac Peshitto James ch 4 Authorized use by +Mar Eshwan, Bishop

My child, flee from every evil and everything that resembles evil.

Do not always be filled with anger, for anger leads to murder, nor jealous nor contentious nor wrathful;

for of all these things are not becoming of a follower of Messiah.

My child, do not be filled with lust, for lust leads to fornication, neither foul-speaking neither with uplifted eyes;

for of all these things lead to unfaithfulness and are not becoming of a follower of Messiah.

My child, do not be one who deals with sorcery because these practices lead to idolatry, nor a worker of spells nor a worshiper of the stars and signs nor a magician, and do not even seek after those who do practice these things;

Ode 24

Ode Twenty Four 1 As the wings of doves over their nestlings, and the mouths of their nestlings towards their mouths, so also are the wings of the Spirit over my heart.

2 I trusted, consequently I was at rest; because trustful is He in whom I trusted.

3 He has greatly blessed me, and my head is with Him.

4 And the dagger shall not divide me from Him, nor the sword;

5 Because I am ready before destruction comes, and have been set on His immortal side.

6 And immortal life embraced me, and kissed me.

7 And from that life is the Spirit which is within me. And it cannot die because it is life.

8 Those who saw me were amazed, because I was persecuted.

9 And they thought that I had been swallowed up, because I seemed to them as one of the lost.

10 But my injustice became my salvation.

11 And I became their abomination, because there was no jealousy in me.

12 Because I continually did good to every man I was hated.

13 And they surrounded me like mad dogs, those who in stupidity attack their masters.

14 Because their thought is depraved, and their mind is perverted.

15 But I was carrying water in my right hand, and their bitterness I endured by my sweetness.

16 And I did not perish, because I was not their brother, nor was my birth like theirs.

17 And they sought my death but did not find it possible, because I was older than their memory; and in

vain did they cast lots against me.

18 And those who were after me sought in vain to destroy the memorial of Him who was before them.

19 Because the thought of the Most High cannot be prepossessed; and His heart is superior to all wisdom. Halleluyah.

After Torah Reading

Psalm 119:18

Happy are they who are upright in the way, who walk in the Torah of AdonYah. Happy are they who keep His testimonies, that seek Him with the whole heart. They do no unrighteousness; they walk in His way. You have ordained Your precepts, that we should observe them diligently. Oh that my ways were directed to observe Your statutes! Then I would not be ashamed, when I have given diligence unto all Your mitzvoth. I will give thanks unto You with uprightness of heart, when I learn Your righteous ordinances. I will observe Your statutes; do not utterly forsake me.

Lord Yeshua, you who were brought forth by the very hand of God the Father, made known to the Blessed Mother Maryam, by the message of the angel Gabriel — I praise you, I thank you and I honour you with all my heart. It was you who said, ‘I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me, shall not hunger; and he that believeth on me, shall never thirst.’ Grant unto the presence of the Spirit of holiness as you promised to your disciples, so that I may understand the Word of God and the Will of the Father for me. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Forehead:”May I have the mind of Mshikha”, Mouth:”May I speak pure words of Torah”, Heart:”and may my heart be sealed”, Right shoulder: “in the blood of the Lamb”& Left shoulder :” Amen. ” God is One.

Or

Forehead:”Mshikha in my mind.”, Mouth:”Torah in my mouth.”, Heart:”The blood of the Lamb in my heart.”, Right shoulder:”In Yeshua’s Name.” & Left Shoulder:”Amen.”In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. God is One.

May Mar Yah Bless You and Keep You. 🙂
