Before Torah Reading

Matthew 5:17-20

Do not think that I came to dismiss the Torah or the Prophets. I have not come to dismiss, but to carry out. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one smallest letter or one stroke shall pass away from the Torah, until everything happens. Therefore, anyone who dismisses one of these small mitzvoth, and thus teach the sons of men to do so, will be called little in the Kingdom of Heaven; but those who do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

When Removing Torah From Ark

When the Ark set out, Mosha would say: Arise, O AdonYah, and Your adversaries will be scattered, and Your enemies will flee before You. For from Zion shall go forth the Torah, and the Word of AdonYah from Jerusalem. Blessed is He who in His holiness gave Torah to His people Israel.

1 Then the Pharisees and Scribes that were from

came to Jesus, and said:

2 Why do your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders, and not wash their hands

when they eat bread?

3 Jesus replied and said to them: Why do you also transgress the commandments

of God,

on account of your tradition?

4 For God has said: Honor your father, and your mother; and he that reviles his father or

his mother, shall be put to death.

5 But you say: Whoever shall say to a father or to a mother, An offering, whatever it is

that which you receive profit from

me: then he

must not honor his father or his mother.

6 And thus you make the word of God null and void for the sake of your tradition.

7 You hypocrites, well did the prophet Isaiah prophesy of you, and say:

8 This people honors me with the lips, but their heart is far from

9 And in vain they pay me homage, while they teach doctrines that are the precepts of

10 And he called the multitudes, and said to them, Hear and understand.

11 Not that which enters the mouth, defiles a man; but that which proceeds from

mouth, that defiles a man.

12 Then his disciples came, and said to him: You know that the Pharisees were offended

when they heard that speech?

13 And he replied, and said to them: Every plant, which my Father who is in heaven has

not planted, shall be destroyed.

14 Let them

alone: they are blind leaders of the blind. And if a blind man leads one

blind, they will both fall into the pit.

15 And Simon Peter answered and said to him: My Lord, explain this parable to us.

16 And he said to them: Are you also, up to this time, without understanding?

17 Do you not know, that whatever enters the mouth, passes into the belly, and from

there is ejected by excrement?

18 But that which proceeds from

the mouth, comes from

the heart: and that is what

defiles a man.

19 For, from

the heart proceed evil thoughts, adultery, murder, fornication, theft, false

testimony, reviling.

20 These are the things that defile a man. But if a man eat while his hands are

unwashed, he is not defiled.

21 And Jesus departed from

there, and went to the confines of Tyre and Sidon.

22 And behold, a Canaanite woman came forth calling out and saying: Have

compassion on me, my Lord, Son of David: my daughter is grievously distressed by a

23 But he did not answer her with a word. And his disciples came and requested of him,

and said: Send her away, for she cries after us.

24 But he answered and said to them: I am

not sent, except to the sheep that have

strayed from

the house of Israel.

25 And she came, and worshiped him, and said: Help me, my Lord.

26 Jesus said to her: It is not proper, to take the bread of the children and throw it to the

27 And she said: Even so, my Lord; yet the dogs eat of the fragments that fall from

tables of their masters and live.

28 Then Jesus said to her: O woman, great is your faith: be it to you as you desire. And

her daughter was cured from

that hour.

29 And Jesus departed from

there, and came to the side of the sea of Galilee: and he

ascended a mountain, and sat there.

30 And great multitudes came to him; and with them

were the lame, and the blind, and

the dumb, and the maimed, and many others: and they laid them

at the feet of Jesus, and

he healed them.

31 So that the multitudes were amazed, when they saw the mute speaking, and the

maimed made whole, and the lame walking, and the blind seeing: and they praised the

God of Israel.

32 Then Jesus called his disciples, and said to them: I pity this multitude; for behold,

these three days they have continued with me, and they have nothing to eat: and I am

unwilling to send them

away fasting, in case they faint by the way.

33 His disciples said to him: Where can we get bread in the wilderness to satisfy all this

34 Jesus said to them, How many loaves do you have?

They said to him, Seven, and a

few small fish.

35 And he commanded the multitudes to recline on the ground.

36 And he took the seven loaves and the fish, and gave thanks, and broke it, and gave to

his disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.

37 And they all ate, and were satisfied. And they took up the remains of fragments,

seven full baskets.

38 And they that had eaten were four thousand men, besides women and children.

39 And when he had sent away the multitudes, he got into a boat, and came to the coasts

of Magdala.

Chapter 5

1 O you rich ones, wail and weep, on account of the miseries that are coming upon you.

2 For your wealth is spoiled and putrid; and your garments are moth-eaten:

3 and your gold and your silver have contracted rust; and the rust of them will be testimony against you; and it will eat your flesh. You have heaped up a fire to you against the latter days.

4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who have reaped your ground, which you have wrongfully retained, cries out; and the clamor of the reapers has entered the ears of Mar-Yah of Sabaoth.

5 For you have lived in pleasure on the earth, and revelled, and feasted your bodies as in a day of slaughter.

6 You have condemned and slain the just, and none resisted you.

7 But, my brethren, be you patient until the advent of Mar-Yah; like the husbandman, who waits for the precious fruits of his ground, and is patient as to them, until he receive the early and the latter rain.

8 So also be you patient, and fortify your hearts; for the advent of Maran draws nigh

9 Be not querulous one against another, my brethren, lest you be judged: for lo, the judgment , stands before the door.

10 For patience in your afflictions, my brethren, take to you the example of the prophets, who spoke in the Name of Mar-Yah.

11 For lo, we ascribe blessedness to them who have borne suffering. You have heard of the patience of Job; and you have seen the result which Mar-Yah wrought for him: for Mar-Yah is merciful and compassionate.

12 But above all things, my brethren, swear you not; neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath: but let your language be yes, yes, and no, no, lest you become obnoxious to judgment.

13 And if any of you shall be in affliction, let him pray; or if he be joyous, let him sing psalms.

14 And if one is sick, let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray for him, and anoint him with oil in the name of Maran:

15 and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and Maran will raise him up; and if sins have been committed by him, they will be forgiven him.

16 And confess you your faults one to another, and pray you one for another, that you may be healed; for great is the efficacy of the prayer which a righteous man prays.

17 Eliyahu also was a man of sensations like us, and he prayed that rain might not descend upon the earth; and it descended not, for three years and six months.

18 And again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth gave forth its fruits.

19 My brethren, if one of you err from the way of truth, and any one convert him from his error;

20 let him know, that he who turns the sinner from the error of his way, will resuscitate his soul from death, and will cover the multitude of his sins.

Odes of Solomon 19-20

Ode Nineteen 1 He who caused me to descend from on high, and to ascend from the regions below;

2 And He who gathers what is in the Middle, and throws them to me;

3 He who scattered my enemies, and my adversaries;

4 He who gave me authority over bonds, so that I might unbind them;

5 He who overthrew by my hands the dragon with seven heads, and set me at his roots that I might destroy his seed;

6 You were there and helped me, and in every place Your name surrounded me.

7 Your right hand destroyed his evil venom, and Your hand levelled the Way for those who believe in You.

8 And It chose them from the graves, and separated them from the dead ones.

9 It took dead bones and covered them with flesh.

10 But they were motionless, so It gave them energy for life.

11 Incorruptible was Your way and Your face; You have brought Your world to corruption, that everything might be resolved and renewed.

12 And the foundation of everything is Your rock. And upon it You have built Your kingdom, and it became the dwelling-place of the holy ones. Halleluyah. Ode Twenty 1 Joy is for the holy ones. And who shall put it on but they alone?

2 Grace is for the elect ones. And who shall receive it but they who trusted in it from the beginning?

3 Love is for the elect ones. And who shall put it on but they who possessed it from the beginning?

4 Walk in the knowledge of the Lord, and you will know the grace of the Lord generously; both for His exultation and for the perfection of His knowledge.

5 And His thought was like a letter, and His will descended from on high.

6 And it was sent like an arrow which from a bow has been forcibly shot.

7 And many hands rushed to the letter, in order to catch it, then take and read it.

8 But it escaped from their fingers; and they were afraid of it and of the seal which was upon it.

9 Because they were not allowed to loosen its seal; for the power which was over the seal was greater than they.

10 But those who saw the letter went after it; that they might learn where it would land, and who should read it, and who should hear it.

11 But a wheel received it, and it came over it.

12 And a sign was with it, of the kingdom and of providence.

13 And everything which was disturbing the wheel, it mowed and cut down.

14 And it restrained a multitude of adversaries; and bridged rivers.

15 And it crossed over and uprooted many forests, and made an open way.

16 The head went down to the feet, because unto the feet ran the wheel, and whatever had come upon it.

17 The letter was one of command, and hence all regions were gathered together.

18 And there was seen at its head, the head which was revealed, even the Son of Truth from the Most High Father.

19 And He inherited and possessed everything, and then the scheming of the many ceased.

20 Then all the seducers became headstrong and fled, and the persecutors became extinct and were blotted out.

21 And the letter became a large volume, which was entirely written by the finger of God.

22 And the name of the Father was upon it; and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, to rule for ever and ever. Halleluyah.

After Torah Reading

Psalm 119:18

Happy are they who are upright in the way, who walk in the Torah of AdonYah. Happy are they who keep His testimonies, that seek Him with the whole heart. They do no unrighteousness; they walk in His way. You have ordained Your precepts, that we should observe them diligently. Oh that my ways were directed to observe Your statutes! Then I would not be ashamed, when I have given diligence unto all Your mitzvoth. I will give thanks unto You with uprightness of heart, when I learn Your righteous ordinances. I will observe Your statutes; do not utterly forsake me.

Lord Yeshua, you who were brought forth by the very hand of God the Father, made known to the Blessed Mother Maryam, by the message of the angel Gabriel — I praise you, I thank you and I honour you with all my heart. It was you who said, ‘I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me, shall not hunger; and he that believeth on me, shall never thirst.’ Grant unto the presence of the Spirit of holiness as you promised to your disciples, so that I may understand the Word of God and the Will of the Father for me. Amen.
