Before Torah Reading

Matthew 5:17­-20

Do not think that I came to dismiss the Torah or the Prophets. I have not come to dismiss, but to carry out. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one smallest letter or one stroke shall pass away from the Torah, until everything happens. Therefore, anyone who dismisses one of these small mitzvoth (Commandments), and thus teach the sons of men to do so, will be called little in the Kingdom of Heaven; but those who do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

When Removing Torah From Ark

When the Ark set out, Mosha would say: Arise, O AdonYah, and Your adversaries will be scattered, and Your enemies will flee before You. For from Zion shall go forth the Torah, and the Word of Adon­Yah from Jerusalem. Blessed is He who in His holiness gave Torah to His people Israel.

The Torah which Moshe commanded us is the heritage of congregation of Ya’aqub. (Kiss the Torah)

CHAPTER 28

11 And when they left, some of the guards cam

e to the city, and told the chief priests all

that had occurred.

12 And they assembled with the Elders, and held a council; and they gave to the guards

no small amount of money,

13 and said to them: Say that, his disciples came and stole him

away by night, while we

were asleep.

14 And if this should be reported before the governor, we will appease him, and cause

you not to be troubled.

15 And they, having received the money, did as they were instructed. And this story is

current among Jews to this day.

16 And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had

appointed for them.

17 And when they beheld him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

18 And Jesus came near, and spoke with them, and said to them: All authority is given

to me, in heaven and on earth. And as my Father sent me, so also I send you.

19 Go, therefore, and instruct all nations; and baptize them

in the name of the Father,

and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

20 And teach them

to observe all that I have commanded you. And, behold, I am

with

you always, until the end of the world. Amen.

THE BOOK OF JAMES

Chapter 1

1 Ya’aqub, a servant of Alaha, and of Maran Yeshua Mshikha, to the twelve tribes scattered among the goyim. Shalom!

2 Let it be a joy to you, my brethren, when you enter into many and various trials. 3 For you know the trial of faith makes you increase patience. 4 And let patience have its perfect work, so that you may be complete and perfect, and may lack in nothing.

5 And if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of Alaha who gives to all freely and with love, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, without hesitating; for he who hesitates is like the waves of the sea, which the wind tosses around. 7 And such a man should not expect to receive any thing of Mar-Yah, 8 who is hesitating in his mind, and unstable in all of his ways.

9 And let the humble brother rejoice because he is exalted; 10 and the rich, in his humbleness because, like the flower of the grass, he passes away. 11 For the sun rises in its heat, and dries up the grass; and its flower falls, and the beauty of its appearance perishes; it is the same with the rich man because he withers in his ways.

12 Blessed is the man who endures trials so that when he is proved he may receive a crown of life, which Alaha has promised to those who love him. 13 Let no one when he is tempted, say, ‘I am tempted by Alaha’; for Alaha is not tempted with evils, nor does he tempt anyone. 14 But every man is tempted by his own lust, and he desires and is enticed. 15 And this lust conceives, and brings forth sin; and sin, when mature, brings forth death.

16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good and perfect gift comes down from above, from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, not even a shadow of variation. 18 By his own will he fathered us by the word of truth so that we might be the first-fruits of his creatures.

19 My beloved brethren, every one of you be quick to hear and slow to speak and slow to anger; 20 for the wrath of man does not bring the righteousness of Alaha. 21 Therefore, remove yourself from all impurity and the abundance of wickedness; and, with meekness, receive the word that is firmly planted in our nature, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if any man shall be a hearer of the word, and not a doer of it, he will be like one who sees his face in a mirror; 24 for he sees himself, and passes on, and forgets what his appearance was. 25 But all who look upon the perfect law of liberty and abides in it, is not a hearer of something to be forgotten, but a doer of the things; such a man will be blessed in his work.

26 And if anyone thinks that he worships Alaha, and does not control his tongue, his heart deceives him and his worship is in vain. 27 For service that is pure and holy before Abba Alaha, is this: to visit the fatherless and the widows in their affliction, and to keep himself spotless from the world.

Gospel of Thomas v. 60-9

60) a Samaritan carrying a lamb on his way to Judea.
He said to his disciples, “(Why does) that man (carry) the lamb
around?”
They said to him, “So that he may kill it and eat it.”
He said to them, “While it is alive, he will not eat it, but
only when he has killed it and it has become a corpse.”
They said to him, “He cannot do so otherwise.”
He said to them, “You too, look for a place for yourself
within the Repose, lest you become a corpse and be eaten.”

61) Jesus said, “Two will rest on a bed: the one will die, and
other will live.”
Salome said to him, “Who are You, man, that You, as though
from the One, have come up on my couch and eaten from my table?”
Jesus said to her, “I am He who exists from the Undivided. I
was given some of the things of my Father.”
“I am Your disciple.”
“Therefore I say, if he is ,
he will be filled with light, but if he is divided, he will be
filled with darkness.”

62) Jesus said, “It is to those [who are worthy of My] mysteries
that I tell My mysteries. Do not let your left hand know what
your right hand is doing.”
63) Jesus said, “There was a rich man who had much money. He
said, ‘I shall put my money to use so that I may sow, reap,
plant, and fill my storehouse with produce, with the result that
I shall lack nothing. Such were his intentions, but that same
night he died. Let him who has ears hear.”

64) Jesus said, “A man had received visitors. And when he had
prepared the dinner, he sent his servant to invite guests. He
went to the first one and said to him, “My master invites you.’
He said, ‘I have claims against some merchants. They are coming
to me this evening. I must go and give them my orders. I ask to
be excused from the dinner.’ He went to another and said, ‘My
master has invited you.’ He said to him, ‘I have just bought a
house and am required for the day. I shall not have any spare
time.’ He went to another and said to him, ‘My master invites
you.’ He said to him, ‘My friend is going to get married, and I
am to prepare the banquet. I shall not be able to come. I ask to
be excused from the dinner.’ He went to another and said to him,
‘My master invites you.’ He said to him, ‘I have just bought a
farm, and I am on my way to collect the rent. I shall not be able
to come. I ask to be excused.’ The servant returned and said to
his master, ‘Those whom you invited to the dinner have asked to
be excused.’ The master said to his servant, ‘Go outside to the
streets and bring back those whom you happen to meet, so that
they may dine.’ Businessmen and merchants will not enter the
Places of My Father.”

65) He said, “There was a good man who owned a vineyard. He
leased it to tenant farmers so that they might work it and he
might collect the produce from them. He sent his servant so that
the tenants might give him the produce of the vineyard. They
seized his servant and beat him, all but killing him. The servant
went back and told his master. The master said, ‘Perhaps did not recognize .’ He sent another servant. The tenants
beat this one as well. Then the owner sent his son and said,
‘Perhaps they will show respect to my son.’ Because the tenants
knew that it was he who was the heir to the vineyard, they seized
him and killed him. Let him who has ears hear.”

66) Jesus said, “Show me the stone which the builders have
rejected. That one is the cornerstone.”

67) Jesus said, “Whoever believes that the All itself is
deficient is (himself) completely deficient.”

68) Jesus said, “Blessed are you when you are hated and
persecuted. Wherever you have been persecuted they will find no
Place.”

69) Jesus said, “Blessed are they who have been persecuted
within themselves. It is they who have truly come to know the
Father. Blessed are the hungry, for the belly of him who desires
will be filled.”

Ode Twenty Seven 1 Chasms vanished before the Lord, and darkness dissipated before His appearance.

2 Error erred and perished on account of Him; and contempt received no path, for it was submerged by the truth of the Lord.

3 He opened His mouth and spoke grace and joy; and recited a new chant to His name.

4 Then He lifted his voice towards the Most High, and offered to Him those that had become sons through Him.

5 And His face was justified, because thus His Holy Father had given to Him.

6 Come forth, you who have been afflicted, and receive joy.

7 And possess yourselves through grace, and take unto you immortal life.

8 And they condemned me when I stood up, me who had not been condemned.

9 Then they divided my spoil, though nothing was owed them.

10 But I endured and held my peace and was silent, that I might not be disturbed by them.
